  1. I only fool with this occasionally.  This is a hobby.  I have the stairwell completed, but for some reason the stairs do not seem to end up in the proper place.

  2. Here's a cross section of the stairs.  I plan to convert to brick stairs.  I need a landing at the bottom and 1-2 steps to the lower level.  I can't seem to place the bottom step at the lower level.

  3. I’ve tried this and the stairs always appear too high.  It’s as if they revert to the main level.  They appear one level above where I want them to originate.

  4. I'm using Home Designer Pro 2023.  I can't seem to get the stairs to draw on the basement level.  When I try to draw the stairs from the basement patio to the patio on the main floor the stairs are placed at the level of the main floor rather than starting at the basement level.  I've tried changing the floor level to no avail.  I don't find any place to change the height of the stairs when I open the stair object.  Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

  5. I had a guy help with the plan a few years ago and he used Chief Architect to do some of the drawings.  The mulled windows are large fixed windows.  I like what you have done in the picture.  Can you show me how you did this?  Also, there's a landing at the bottom of the stairs and one step down further to the stairwell.

  6. I probably created this file in an earlier version of Home Designer Pro, probably 2021 or 2022.  I updated this file in 2023 version, however.  This one has the terrain, though I have altered the terrain somewhat on a file on my other computer.  This should suffice for the questions I have, however.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  By the way, is there a way to request help from a specific member on this forum?

  7. I’m using Home Designer Pro 2023.  I’m modeling my home and am having trouble trying to figure out how to draw a stairwell with brick stairs leading from my patio on the main level to my basement level.  I have a walk out basement/garage.  I’ve tried drawing a terrain wall, a retaining wall, a slab, etc.  I can’t seem to make it work.  The terrain shows through in spots.  I’m attaching some pictures that might help.  Any suggestions would help.  I’ve scoured the training videos on the Chief Architech web site, but can’t seem to find one that instructs me how to do this.  The patio and stairwell are on the back side of the house.  The house is on a hill with sloping terrain down on all sides.

  8. I'm fairly new to Home Designer Pro 2018 and have played around with the manual roof build.  I'm very frustrated in that the technique seems rather simple, but when I attempt to place the roof planes along the horizontal wall it puts the gable end on the front wall rather than the ends.  In the tutorials, it doesn't seem to work that way, but I haven't been able to figure this out.  I would appreciate help.  I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I haven't been able to determine what it is.  Also, I need some help in extending the roof over a front porch.  The roof is a gull wing roof.

    Thanks

  9. It's mainly used for navigation.  I ordered it with some Dell rewards points just to see if it would be helpful.  It can be used in conjunction with your regular mouse.  It is quite heavy and is stationary.  You navigate with the toggle and can move in any direction, including up and down.  It's supposed to be quite useful for such tasks as fly through, etc.  I really haven't had time to use it very much as yet.

  10. It's working now.  3D connection support was very helpful.  Basically I had to reboot the computer for the drivers to take effect.  Initially the movements were backwards, but the settings menu had an option to reverse these.  The mouse now work correctly.
