  1. Got it. Thank you Solver and Jo_Ann!
  2. The wall to the left of the stairway - the blue wall. Currently, the stairs are only the width as shown - do I need the stairs to extend to the left (to the extent of the outer edge of the existing wall) and then create the railing wall?
  3. Dumb question. If I am doing a railing wall/half wall, do I extend the width of the staircase out to what the wall would be on the room side of the wall (not the staircase side)?
  4. I'm sorry. Thank you.
  5. OK, I think I see my problem now. With the 'follow stairs', it will put the wall at a height that followed the railing. What if the wall height was only to be 6" above the tread, not the 32-36" that a railing would be at?
  6. Looks like I need an upgraded version...I cannot do either. Bummer. Architech is a bit of a letdown...
  7. Solver - how did you do this? I didn't get around to working on this until just now - I apologize for the delay...
  8. I'm looking at this as well, JoAnn. Thank you!
  9. Yes, that is what I want to do.
  10. Solver- Thank you for the reply. No, I don't have the 'follow stairs' option on the wall. I built the wall in question as a wall...should I have built as a railing and modify? I will also take a look at the library.
  11. Greetings all. I'm fairly new to HD. Using HD Architect 2017. I'm trying to make a triangular opening on one side of the stairs, opening into a room in the basement. From what I see, Pro has an easier way of accomplishing this, but I obviously do not have Pro. So, is there a way to get this done in Architect? In the attached picture, the opening would be on the right side, leaving a bit of a short wall to prevent small children from jumping off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
