To many dimensions are displayed when automatic dimensions is activated, the whole plan is dimensions, how can I control what dimensions get displayed, without drawing each one individually  hd pro 2017 windows 8.1 64 bit

I am trying to create a post and beam for the trusses to extend beyond the bearing wall for a covered porch, program keeps saying can't do it because no roof planes were found, trusses don't recognize the general framing as a bearing point.
