Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try modelling the wall as 100mm main with 500mm inner layers (both of the same stone material) and set the door recess to main.

I'm having difficulty positioning an exterior door in a 600mm thick stone wall. I want the door to swing inwards but when I use the edit handles to do this, I end up with the hinges on the interior of the wall. I want them inset about 100mm from the exterior.

Home Designer Pro 2017 provides a facility to inset windows in a thick wall but I can't see any way to do the same thing for a door.

Any suggestions?
