Here is a copy of the plan. My walls have no drywall on purpose. I'm doing some back and forth with an architect. This walls in his blueprints don't have drywall, which I believe is the norm. I just find it easier to send/receive copies of the plan that are apples to apples (i.e. no drywall). Once the plan is finalized, I'll make a copy, add drywall to my walls and continue on to décor and other things. No, I didn't try the Make Best Fit button. The last time I tried that, the program suggested that my ideal staircase would have 17 treads. Obviously there is something I'm not getting about this feature. Thank you! House Plan.plan

Stairs - Top : view of stairs/railings from first floor, looking down. OSB showing : You can see a strip of OSB just below the nosing. Looking down : looks like the nosing is extending too far. The second last tread ls showing less tread than all the others. Hi all, I have Home Designer Pro 2019. On floor one of my plan, I have two 9' railings 40" apart, connected to a wall at one end and I created a room divider across the other side, at the top of what will be the top landing of the staircase. After placing the room divider, I selected my new "room" and chose a room type of Open Below. On the basement level, I created a staircase with length 114 1/2", Width 40", Tread Depth 8 3/16" with 14 treads. In the Interior Staircase Specification dialog, on the Style panel, I checked Nose at Top Landing and Riser Surface at Top Landing. Now, when I create a camera view in the basement, looking up the stairs, I can see hardwood all the way up the stairs, but the top riser doesn't quite make it to the very top. There is a tiny gap between riser and nosing where I can see OSB from behind. I've searched and searched, but I come up with an explanation for the gap, nor can I find a way to get rid of it. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone, Ok, I found a solution. The bottom line is that, at least for me, if Plan Check doesn't find any problems, the Living Area label is not restored. Here is how I tested this: I created a new plan that only contained the outer walls of my plan. I deleted the living area label and ran Plan Check. The Living Area label instantly appeared, along with 3 errors (no front door, no garage door, no garage window). I corrected the issues, deleted the living area label and reran Plan Check. There were no errors, and as a result, the Living Area label did not return. So then I went back to my plan. It didn't seem reasonable that there were no errors at all (some smaller closet doors should have generated an error, for example). So, I introduced an obvious error - I removed the front door, then ran Plan Check. This time it had 44 errors/warnings and the Living Area label came back. So, really I had two problems. Plan Check wasn't working properly, and if it finds no issues, the Living Area label won't return. Hopefully this will help others experiencing this problem.

Hi, I'm using Home Designer Pro 2018 and I'm in a bit of a bind. I have a plan that used to have Living Area labels showing in the main floor and foundation levels. I deleted them at one point, but now I need them back. I have already tried running a Plan Check from the Tools menu. I checked Default Settings > Plan and can see that the Show Living Area Label is checked. I tried unchecking, saving, rechecking but that had no effect. I tried pulling an exterior wall apart and reconnecting. Still no label. Am I missing something obvious? My builder is waiting for this plan, but I wanted to check the square footage before sending it out. Thanks! Brad

Hi, Does anyone know the procedure for creating a sloped ceiling with Home Designer Pro 2017? I'm putting together a two story plan. The first floor has 9' ceilings. The ceiling at one side of the room starts at 9' and gradually rises. By the time the ceiling reaches the other side of the room, it will be 17' high.I haven't been able to find any tutorial on how to do this. Thanks!

Hi. I'm using Pro 2017 and am fairly green. Something odd has happened. In the past, in select mode, if I clicked a wall I would get a dimension line. Now, all that happens is the wall is selected... no dimension line. Any thoughts?
