  1. Hi Y-G-M-N. Thank you for taking the time to look at my issue. That is what I needed to know and it make sense how the program handles floor diaphragms. I'm back in the race and making progress again. Most obliged...
  2. Hi Rookie, Yeah, heaps. At this stage, after watching and reading volumes, much of the content skims the topics. The reference manual tells me what it is, but not how to think about it in the application of the design. I'm finding the thinking about the relationship between the floors contrary, but I'm sure it would all make sense with a full explanation. What I've been looking for (but haven't found yet) is a step by step walk through explaining the logic behind the default “Structure” set-up. That would hit it home and I'd be avoiding what are likely to be things I shouldn't be doing. Do you know of such a tutorial I can watch or read... Most obliged,..
  3. I'm 4 weeks into the product. So what am I looking for? Cheers...
  4. My version of CA is House Designer Pro 2025 X16 It's taking a bit, but I am making some progress... Here's my settings for floor 2. The typical floor height is 2400mm (8ft) in NZ for a room and so that is my goal for the finished height when all the linings and sheathing are in place. However, It doesn't seem to matter what measures I change, none of them promote the sheathing to go under the framing (the standard method for framing here). Here's my settings and a close up of the prototype in the default settings dialogue for Floor 2....
  5. Apologies. That's an illustration taken from the one of the tutorials, meant to illustrate what I'm wanting to achieve. Here's how it looks for me at the moment.
  6. Hi Team, I'm new to the Home Design software and while I've generally progressed quite well with the design I'm working on, there is one element I can't nut out. I'm trying to get the floor sheathing (OSB) to go under the wall framing and come through to the outside edge of the Floor joists/trusses. It is important for me as the plan set I will submit to the Local Authority for approval will need to show this in the cross-sections I will create in the wall framing, floor framing and floor sheathing area. Is there a setting to do this? I just can't find it. Look forward to the expert advice to help me with this. Regards...
