Ive got most of the main floor done in my plan and would like to work on the basement. When I try to draw a wall, i get the below notification. If I turn this off and make any adjustments to the main floor building envelope, it sounds like the foundation walls will no longer mirror the exterior walls of the main floor. Is there a way to turn this back on later in the event i change something on the main level?

Ive been struggling to figure out how to change the room type for about an hour. Im looking to designate more of my dining area to the kitchen as the dining room will have a vaulted ceiling. How is this done?

Thats precisely why im looking to design all of it in 1 file, but turn off the basement buildout until later.

I was hoping there would be an alternative.

Is there a way to do a design in Home Designer Pro where I can keep the home build separate from a finished basement? Im going to sub out the construction of the home, but will finish out the basement once Im moved in a year or so later. I'd like to be able to turn off the finished basement in my model to only show the unfinished portion that I'd contract out but still be able to design the layout.
