  1. Thank you Eric, I'll pursue those suggestions. Once I get this sorted out using the KB article's simple design, I can hopefully apply that knowledge to my actual project.
  2. I have been learning HDpro since acquiring the 2023 version in January; I am currently using HDpro2024. Most recently I am working to learn more complex roof design than the automatically generated roofs, and have encountered a few anomalies that I can’t figure out. I began by trying to match the design in the support article “Creating Multiple Shed Roofs”, KB-01020. After completing the steps outlined in that article, a camera view in the same direction as that in the article looks fine. When I orbit the camera to look from the ‘back’ side, there are a couple of small patches in the exterior walls that fail to render properly (see the red outlined bits in the first image). I was unable to fix those with the material painter, or any other method. In extending the learning opportunity, I wanted a vaulted ceiling in the ‘center’ room, so I deselected ‘Flat ceiling over this room’ in the room specification. When I took a camera view of the inside of the center room, the side walls are (not surprisingly) still exterior siding (second image). Using the material painter I sampled the drywall of an adjoining wall and painted those ‘siding’ walls. They only changed up to the level of (I presume) where a flat ceiling would be (third image), but concurrently the view of the back from outside degraded to have a much larger section that no longer renders as siding. Interestingly, the outside view changed on both side walls, even though I only applied the material to a single interior side wall (fourth image). Trying to reapply the ‘siding’ material on the outside with the material painter was not successful – it simply wouldn’t do it. I then tried to apply the ‘drywall’ material to the interior (upper triangle shaped) piece that still rendered as siding; this resulted in the warning that I was trying to change an automatically generated wall – did I want to proceed (image five). Saying ‘yes’ made the interior render as I desired, but totally removed the ‘siding’ from the outside view (image six). I tried other combinations with the material painter, and also played briefly with changing the ceiling height in the room specification, but have not been able to make both the interior and exterior views render as desired. This is my first post to this forum – I have searched for guidance but haven’t found anything that appears to be relevant. Any suggestions or guidance would be most appreciated. Thank you, John Hall
