Yes. I auto generated the initial roof, but am now trying to clean it up manually. Just having trouble working with those planes, how to adjust them in the 3D and plan views. You're right about the wall, I'll need to fix that.

HD Pro 2025 WIn I'm kind of new to HD and have been trying to learn about manually adjusting roof planes. I don't really have the hang of it yet. For the plan below the circled "hump" was what HD auto generated and I am trying to simplify. The main house is only 1 story so there is attic space below most of the main roof. There is a bonus room above the garage. I think I should be able to have a straight flat ridge line down the center of the main house. Then I think I should be able to have a section of roof perpendicular to that connecting the main roof and the roof over the garage. There are still some complicated angles to it, but I don't think there needs to be a hump. I've posted a few other 3D views and a rendering more like what I expect it to look like based on a similar floorplan, although it's not the best angle. I've watched through some roof videos in the official HD training as well as from a couple of the YouTubers. I can get the back roof to be a rectangular plane (although probably not using the simplest methods), but I am struggling with the front part connection of the garage and main roofs. Yes, that is correct, and how it is built in real life. Sounds like I might need to upgrade if I want to do this. I might just live with the bump in the roof for now. Thanks for trying. Cheers, David

Thanks Eric, that was helpful. Your end result of the roofline is what I am trying to get to. I have lived in this house, but do not currently (to take specific measurements of the roof or examine the framing). I have quite a few pictures of the actual house though and not just the ink drawings. I have the original floorplan, but not the full blueprints. The wall you were moving is correct as drawn; it runs straight from the front to the back of the house. Perhaps there is another technique ... a knee wall maybe it's called or something like that ... in the attic or a zero height second floor over the garage that can be moved in without moving the whole exterior wall in and would give the same result? Thanks for the info. I did do some searching before asking, I did review the videos I could find about roofs, but couldn't see one with this scenario and didn't know how to search for it specifically. I've attached the plan file. So, you have two wall segments along that highlighted wall? A skinny one under the gable end of the gable wall on the left, and the section highlighted? That got me closer, but there is a hump in the garage roof that isn't there in real life. Not sure how to get rid of that. Sorrento.plan

Currently using HD Architectural 2023. Is it possible to create the roof section in the line drawings below where there is a smaller gable roof section between the garage and the main house. The main gables for the garage and main house run in opposite directions, and HD is not creating a lower roof peak and valley for that section at the back of the garage. If I need HD Pro to do this, is there a good tutorial?
