Before I get yelled at by the very helpful people that always correct me: Home Designer Pro 2023! Planning office wants to see the house on a topo map in 3d essentially. It took some effort but I got the house and topo looking good in 3d, but I don't see a way to show the contour lines in any 3D view, the ideal view would be the technical view. Attached is what I've built so far and an example of how the planning dept wants to see it.

I wasn't able to watch your video before you removed it, can you repost? I'm trying to fix the foundations, but the floor height is still lower than the rest of the house, I cannot figure out the north side and why it looks like the foundation is below the terrain compared to the garage

I use Home Designer Pro 2023 here's the attached plan. You'll see in 3D almost anywhere there's an intersecting wall of a differing height, either the top cap or sides of the walls aren't right. Las Campanas.plan

I've read up on a lot of the articles and help for parapet walls on a flat roof. I generally have it working alright, albeit what a slow and PITA approach! I guess not too many people using home designer do this, otherwise they would develop some better functionality! Rant over.... So specifically, I have different roof elevation heights and intersecting walls that the corners and wall caps I just can't get them to render correctly. There's variations all over this roof that I believe many places it's combining the walls even though they are different heights. I've added breaks on many of these walls, but they eventually just combine together again. For the parapets I defined a wall type that has a stucco interior, I suspect it's not handling in some cases the interior/exterior wall positions are different because the way these elevations come together. I'm not sure how to rectify this or describe it, so I'll post a bunch of pictures.

What dialog box? How do I get it to adjust all the walls on the plan?

Very old post, curious if you ever solved it? I'm experiencing the same with HD2023, wanting to view in VR. Anyone else know?

Disregard, figured it out by using the "Ceiling Planes" tool and mapping that all out! I'll leave it up in case anyone else runs into the same questions. My second question still stands, will the program support creating trusses like this? If so, any direction on how? If I build out the trusses in detail, will the 3D side pick that up and use it for the rendering? or are the renderings different than building out full truss plans?

Hello, I've gotten really comfortable with HD, and I can get my exterior roof to match what I want, but there's a more tricky bit that I can't figure out. In my main living area it is a vaulted ceiling (3/12 pitch vs 4/12 pitch exterior) with 10' top plates (orange box) However the front patio, rear patio and dining room all will have flat 10' ceilings (blue boxes). I can get the flat ceilings showing up fine, but because the exterior roofline extends all the way out, when it draws the interior ceiling, though it's vaulted, the vaulting is not starting at the 10' top plates for that room (red line in top plate picture), it's started at the outer most exterior "invisible walls". Hard to explain, see the photos. How do I get the interior ceiling to match what I need? Secondary question, can I built the trusses out like this in HD? If you build a full set of trusses, will the 3D draw based on those trusses?

Great thank you! Is there a way to track/remember/know which to turn back on, haha. There's so many being displayed, I have to remember which ones to display again, right? No trick for selecting the default display, undisplaying, select Cad default, delete it, then go back in and turn back on the defaulted displayed items?

Hello, First post, but I DID do a search and couldn't quite find an answer. I have a 2D AutoCad .dwg file from a designer that I've figured out how to import successfully with HD PRO, then I can trace around it just fine and start getting it into 3D, pretty easy really. I know the Premier has a tool for cad to walls (but I can't pay that much), but my question is after I create my 3D walls, how do I delete/remove all the 2D information? I'm going to be creating the electrical diagram for the designer, so I want to export the dwg back to him, but don't want to "resend" all the 2D data. Is there a way to create layers in HD Pro. Like in Photoshop, have a layer for 2d, a layer for 3d then just delete the 2d layer completely? Thanks
