  1. That sounds like an interesting way to do it. I haven't messed around much with railings other than putting them around an outside wood deck. The three posts are supporting a low slope modified bit roof with dimensional lumber rafters, and T&G ceiling. I think it probably needs the pad footings. This is also to be installed at an existing pool deck, so the pool deck will have to be cut out, excavated, and pour footings/piers. I can always draw the three pad footings on the foundation plan after it is sent to Layout. Just curious why it wouldn't place them automatically.
  2. I think I searched existing topics pretty well, but only found where it was suggested to turn on "Post, Footings" in the Display Options. I already had that checked. I've got three patio roof posts each with a square concrete pad footing. They show everywhere except on the Foundation Plan. After I took these screen shots, I carried one of the posts down to the top of the buried footing, even though that is not how I would build it, but that won't make it display either. Am I missing something overly simple??
  3. That works. Just used a board and batten texture, didn't like the staggered look for the panel options. Thanks
  4. I've got general framing posts, and a roof beam drawn to support a patio roof. I want to wrap them with fiber cement board, but have not found a way to do that. Can someone help me out? Screen shot below for reference. Thanks
  5. Thanks Rookie. That's what it was.
  6. Thanks for the response Scott. It's just the regular Plan when you are designing, that no longer shows shaded walls. (see screen shot). If I go to Print Preview, it shows the shaded walls. (see other screen shot) I'm just trying to get the shaded walls back in standard Plan view. I don't know what I did to make them un-shaded. Any other ideas?
  7. Just adding to my question above, when I go to Print Preview, the walls are shaded like they originally were. Get out of Print Preview and they are no longer shaded.
  8. I just upgraded to Home Designer Pro 2026, and created a new plan for my son and daughter-in-laws renovation project. I was using Print Preview and Print to PDF so I could send them the plan. Now all the walls are no longer shaded. When I created the plan, exterior walls were darker gray, and interior walls were lighter gray. I can't figure out how to restore them to how they were when first created. Does anybody know a way to do this?
  9. Thanks Rookie. That may be the way I'll have to do it.
  10. Yes, I saw those in the core catalog, but they are all brick and cobblestone. I'm looking for concrete pavers, similar to those manufactured by Belgard. Some have a mix of 3 different sizes to use in various patterns.
  11. I'm using Home Designer Pro 2020, and am trying to find a catalog or somewhere in the Library for Concrete Pavers, to use around a patio and pool area. Anybody know where I can find some? Thanks
  12. Attached is how I have the back patio modeled. Interior rooms are the same, but with slab and top of stemwall at 0". I like the pony wall idea out of the two you suggested. I'll try that and see how it displays. Thank you solver
  13. I've gone through all the videos that I thought would be related to the problem I'm having, but haven't found anything to help resolve it. I'm thinking it's something with the settings with stemwall top vs. top of slab, and auto rebuild foundations seems to adjust them incorrectly. Attached are a couple screen shots of what I'm getting now.
  14. I've drawn a house plan with concrete block exterior walls with stucco finish on the exterior side. The plan has a concrete block stem wall on footing foundation. I dropped the exterior entrance slab, and the back patio slab down 4" from the main house slab. Now when I view Perspective Full Overview, the exterior stucco doesn't continue down to the dropped slabs, so it just shows a few inches of the top of the stem wall which is bare concrete block. I could probably specify the stem wall to have the same stucco finish on the exterior side, but that doesn't seem the right way to do it. It would mess up quantity calculations too. Any ideas how address this issue?? __________________________________ Using Home Designer Pro 2020, Windows 10
