When I turn on reference floor, it used to appear in red color in the past. Now everything is showing up in black color and making it confusing to understand which floor is what? Can someone help me guide what settings need to be changed? Thank you.

Hello all, I am new to this software. I want to design and build my house. I would appreciate your feedback. My first floor is 36 feet deep and 67 feet wide. Can I make my second floor 40 feet deep either by extending 4 feet in the back side on cantilevers or in some other fashion? What would be the issues and advantages with this approach? Would this reduce my costs because there is no need for basement or foundation for the extra space I add on the second floor? I appreciate anyone's input or help. Thank you.
