I have the stairs and the stairwell created from the first floor to the second. I need to open up the space beside the staircase for viewing the first floor from the second, not just the opening for the stairs.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm new to this and wasn't sure how to get the information I need without giving too much info. I'm using Home Designer Pro 2021, and am creating a two story plan over a walkout basement. The plan calls for two curved stairwells that allow an opening to the first floor. I have created the stairwells from the first floor and have adjusted the length to reach the second floor. I just need to know how to create the opening in the second floor to the first?

Can anyone direct me in how I can open up a portion of the 2nd floor to the 1st floor?
