Thanks Jo Ann, that worked, althogh I don't want the ceiling any lower in the bump-out. If there's no other way to do it, I'll just have to make a note to the builder. James

Thanks DJP, but that just gives me a hip roof over both the main wall and the bump-out. I'm trying to get a gable over the main wall and a hip roof over the bump-out. I can get a separate gable over each, but I can't seem to mix the two. Any other ideas?

I'm using Home Designer Suite 2015 and trying to build a hip roof over a bump-out on a wall with a gable roof, but what I get is shown in image 1. The plan is image 2. The roof settings on all three sections of the main wall and the wall in the attic are "Full Gable Wall". Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks for your help. James
