Thank you Eric!  You totally understood what I was asking and your solution is best I can do with home designer.  This may take me awhile, but I will try your suggestion.  I watched the video and I'm not as savvy as you on the program...but I'll do my best.   I appreciate you.

Hope I can explain this well enough to illustrate the issue.  (adding images)  

• There is a main living area with vaulted ceilings
• There is an addition (screened-in porch) with a full gable wall
• I'd like the main living area to have the vault from the main roof...but the gable wall addition is carving out it's own vault.
• I'd like the "V" in the main space to be vaulted per the main roof area...not having a niche ceiling carved out because of the addon porch.

Ideas/help?  Thank you for  your time!
