@jrharper09 I contacted support, and they got back to me with this message. It solved the problem for me! Hopefully it does for you, too. Some Macs with Intel graphics can experience issues with rendering 3D views if the Disable Target Render Aliasing setting is not checked. I would navigate to the Chief Architect menu > Preferences > Render I would double-check that the Disable Target Render Aliasing setting is checked. If the option was unchecked and you check the option, you will most likely need close and reopen any open camera views.

I sent a support request as well. Thanks!

Quick update. I reinstalled 2021, and it works. Unfortunately, it can’t read any of the plans I created in 2022, so it’s only a partial fix. After some digging around the Apple forums, it appears that graphics rendering is a known issue with OS 12.0 Monterey, and I need to wait until OS 12.1 is released. I will monitor for that release and post here if that resolves the issue.

I am designing a two-sided fireplace between a living and dining room, with a raised hearth for seating on the living room side, and an extended width to allow for wood storage (ie the shape of the fireplace surround will not just be a standard rectangle with a firebox in it). The fireplace will be in the middle of an open space, so not on a wall. Before I start building, I’m wondering if I should use interior walls at each floor to create the chimney chase, or if I should create one chimney chase on the first floor and set the height to extend through the upper floors and the roof? Also, I see tutorials that reference using various methods (interior walls, soffits, shapes) to create a chimney, and I’m unsure which is the best approach for this application. I don’t want to break anything on the upper floors / roofline that could become problematic if I move the fireplace later.

I am having the exact same issue (Home Designer Pro 2022). I’m running a 2020 MacBook Air. I did get a replacement laptop and upgraded my software from 2021 to 2022 around the same time about two months ago, but this is the first time I am running into these rendering issues for the 3D views. I just upgraded my OS to Monterrey - could that be the issue? If so, I could use a workaround until a fix is released… perhaps reverting to 2021 since the minimum system requirements are lower?

I have tried that, yes. It seems to be an issue with the walls (which are not invisible, and I hesitate to delete and recreate them). See the detail below when I try to edit the wall. That stud did not appear in HD 2015, but suddenly shows up in HD 2019...

I just upgraded to HD Pro 2019, and my plan now has some very odd issues in it that I can't seem to fix. The first, most irritating one, is the roof line. Two studs are protruding through the roof, and I can't get them to go away! I've tried adjusting the roof and the walls, but to no avail. Also, with some of my exterior elements, the surfaces are missing or miscolored, and I can't seem to fix them (some surfaces will "take" but others won't, and there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it). Any suggestions?
