    Home Designer Suite 2018

Answers often depend on which title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using.

You can help everyone by adding that info to your signature (see below for how to turn them on) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left.

Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it.

And, turn on signature display too.

Many questions have been asked and answered. The Home Designer website is a good place to start your search.

Here is a video about searching the forum: https://youtu.be/dDT6wbrrVRM

  2. How can I make a gable roof over the front porch with a flat ceiling and also make the roof over the bedroom bump out a gable roof as well?

Id be willing to email the file to anyone who would like to play with the plans, just drop me a line.

  3. Simple work around.  Put the light fixture in the same spot on both floor views.

NOW, find another area where you have a 3 Way Switch and Copy and past that switch where you want it on each floor.  Click on the wall switch and "Open Object"  Uncheck the box labeled " Automatically Change Switch Type When Wiring".

Now wire each switch to the light on each floor and in the plans, it will look like a normal 3 Way Switch Schematic.

Why would you want to do that?

You simply place the lighting symbol where you want it in plan view and then adjust it height from the floor in a camera view. With the garage's ceiling turned off, the lighting fixture should then seek out the bottom of a roof plane which now visually defines the vaulted ceiling.

    Thank you.

    1) Please fill out your Signature -- see below.

    2) Did you open the light and change Offset From Ceiling?

It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. You can add this info to your signature by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left. Doing so makes it always available, and this info is often key to providing a good suggestion

First line of my question tells you "It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. "
