Material List Control

I am not sure if this is possible but here goes...

I have used the soffit tool to build a coffered ceiling.  That works great.

By default the software constructs it out of drywall but I want to use oak boards.

My issue isn't the rendering of the drawing, it's in the material list end of things.

Is there a way to define the 'soffit materials' so that when we generate our material list, it will accurately depict the

lineal feet of oak boards used to complete the coffered ceiling?

Thanks in advance.

So, I think I am on the right track (through trial and error...lol).

I created a 'new material' in my user catalog (1"x6"x16' Red Oak)

Then I selected that as my 'material' in the soffit specifications dialog box.

I am now having trouble figuring out what values control what (between the entered 'new material' in my user cat and the generated 'count' in the soffit specs>components section.

Open your new material and see the Materials List panel.

Find a similar material in the library -- T&G or similar and look how it's defined.

Open a new plan and place a soffit with your material. Figure your quantity manually, then see what the program says.
