Porch half posts and vinyl siding outside corners (new user)

I am a new user for Home Designer Pro and began learning the software yesterday evening.  I have a couple of questions:

 

1. I would like to have a half post, instead of a full length post, in front of a window at the porch.  How can I change the full length post to be a half post?

2. How can I add outside corner trim (vinyl corners) to my exterior vinyl siding at each corner?

Thank you Eric!  The corners were super simple.  Would you care to give me a couple of pointers or steer me in the right direction for placing short columns manually?
