Blue Lines

I just purchased Home Designer Architectural...when I go to insert an object or modify something I have horizontal and vertical blue lines with the arrow.  How do I get rid of the blue lines?

 

Also, one some of the videos, I see when you go to insert an item, a "+" shows like an arrow.  Why don't I get the + or arrow when inserting items?

Those blue lines (search Help for crosshair) are handy -- I'll suggest you try working with them for awhile.
