Building Landscape Beds

I made my own shaped landscape bed from the spline line drawing feature in the CAD tab, and Im having a hard time filling it in with dirt to seperate it from a green plane. I know when you use a pre-made shape such as circle, square, or kidney shape- it is automatically brown like dirt or mulch. How do I fill my shape to look like a garden bed?

so I figured out why I dont see dirt in my 3d view, because it has to be a terrain or build feature to be seen in that view, so my CAD "spline" line feature will not work. I was tutored how to make a halfway decent organic irregular S shaped slab and change fill material.....now I cant get the program to do a garden bed feature over in the Terrain button features. I click garden bed and the 3 options come up but they are not highlighted, strange.

Actually, none of my Terrain features work. The build features work fine...
