Vaulted Ceilings & Beams

Hi there folks,

 

How do you make vaulted ceilings over one part of an open concept room (great room/dining room) on the main floor but have a connected room (kitchen) on the same floor have ceilings? See attached photos.

 

Also, how do make wooden beams along the ceiling and for doorway posts?

Make 2 rooms, flat ceiling in one, vaulted in the other.

 

Use soffits for post and beams, but I don't think Suite has the ability to do a sloped soffit.
