hi, I’ve been trying for days to figure out how to close the gap in this complex roof. The only way i can figure out to do this seems to  be to create a manual  roof plane and manipulate it (endlessly) by changing the baseline angle, the pitch, and the X – height. Needless to say that this takes forever and that it’s pretty impossible to get this roof plane to perfectly match the surrounding roof planes.  I am attaching some files that I hope  help clarify my problem  ...

In order to help, anyone willing to help would first need to know what software you are using, in detail (what title, what version). Then the helper would know what your software is then capable of in terms of fixing the problem. What do you have?

The above videos are "old" but are still pertinent to editing roofs today.

I think that the roof I am trying to build here is rather unusual. The following plan file someone created for me me in chief architect and I imported it into Home Designer Pro abd somehow ruined it (his design looked like the one in the image]:

In order for roofs to best fit together, they must match in baseline height, fascia top height and pitch. No one ever said that manual roof design is "easy", but it can be challenging. Roof symmetry is dependant upon matching settings to achieve a  symmetric roof system. Make sure your roof settings make sense and when they do, they will go together like butter.
