deck, railings and columns

When I line up the railings to the center of a column, the column base sticks out beyond the deck edge. 

Is there a way to move the railing without moving the deck?

There is a particular setting that controls (if your software has that control, not all do) that, it is an offset input box on the "Newels and Balusters" tab of each railing wall, it will accept positive and negative values until you get the effect you desire.

Draw the deck without railings.

 

Draw railings inside the deck. Mark them No Room Definition. Change their settings as needed. Move the railing over to the edge of the deck.
