Liam2011 Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 I went to our planning office and asked them what I need to build a porch on the rear of the house. They told me I should hire a draftsman because I would need a "draft" showing the components of the porch ....starting with the existing exterior wall, ledger board and how it is bolted to the existing exterior wall, flashing from existing wall over the new porch roof (plus various roofing layers such as 4x8 sheet, insulation and roofing felt), brackets to hold the ceiling joists, etc. So I explained this to Chief Architect and they said that Home Designer Pro can do all that.
