Accidental "exterior" room and kitchen cabinet placing problem

I've ended up accidentally having a room in my plan showing as an exterior room and I don't know how to change it to an interior room.  Is there a way to do it without rebuilding?  In the attached plan its the front right upstairs room that's under the tippy up roof.

Also, we've got a weird open fireplace in the large L-shaped room downstairs which needs to stay and we will build our kitchen around it.  The only way I could work out to create the right look was to add interior walls and custom size a doorway in it to match the opening which we have.  The problem that I have is that I am unable to place cabinets within this fireplace as the software realises that they're deeper than the "room" (chimney breast) that I've created and won't allow them to protrude through the doorway.  Is there a different way to create the chimney breast so that I'll be able to place cabinets in and surrounding it?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Kind regards

Anita

You should name the rooms what they are going to be, so that the the software builds correctly.

For the flat roof, all the walls has to have the same pitch, that's why the roof juts out like that.

Uncheck the gable wall for the garage, it won't do anything on a flat roof.

Uncheck foundation wall for utility exterior wall.

Delete the soffits and paint using the F or O painter tool.

Complete the wall on the second floor to create a room

Align the second floor walls.

Use the break wall tool to break a section of the wall and change it to brick.

Click tools>plan check.

Thank you both very much.  I'm sorry for the delay in responding but I didn't get any notifications so thought that no-one had replied yet.

Jo_Ann - The attic wall is because the roof tips up in the corner of that room and the walls are higher than the rest of the house up to a point in that east corner.  This may be what's confused things so is there a different way that I should be doing that?

LawB10 - The jutting up roof is entirely on purpose as that's how it is in real life, it's a flat roof on the rest of the house but that corner tips up to a lifted point.

Gable wall now unchecked for the garage and foundation wall unchecked for utility.  All rooms now named.

I'm afraid that I'm new to this so I'm a bit lost with how I complete the wall to create a room as that is what I thought that I had done.  Could you explain that please.  when I tried to name the room it was coming up as part of the outside which I don't know how to change to inside.

And which wall is it that I need to break and change to brick?  The odd bit of tall skinny brick on the front and rear elevation?  If it is then how would I make the broken bit of brick wall protrude beyond the flush line of the rest of the house?

Is there a way of aligning the second floor walls by snapping onto those below?  I've used the "reference floor" to do this by eye but it's not spot on.

The "plan check" is great; I hadn't found that yet!

Many thanks

Anita

When you select a wall, look in the Edit Tool Bar. If the wall is misaligned, there will be an icon that looks like a bar with an arrow above or below. Click it to align with the floor above or floor below.

Post your current plan, and screen captures showing the problems.

Hi Eric

I've snapped my upstairs walls to my downstairs walls now, thank you for that :-)

I've attached the current plan and a couple of screen shots of where I have an exterior room under the dreaded tippy up roof.  Despite the fact that the "attic" must be WAY taller in that corner, there is nothing showing on the attic floor for that room at all.  When I click on the "exterior" room on the 2nd floor it selects the shaded grey bit all around the house with it.

I don't know what's gone wrong with the height of the house now but since adding the types of room in the room specification dialog, there's significantly more wall above the upstairs windows and doors than there was!?  The cladding has gone potty and is all over the place.  The ceiling heights of the 2nd floor rooms are correct so I don't know where the additional height overall has come from.

Thank you Eric! I was hoping you would appear :-)

It's an inside room now! Thank you :-)

Even though the ceiling heights are 2440 on both floors, there's still a huge amount of unnecessary height above the doors and windows on the 2nd floor.  Any idea how that's being generated and how I can reduce it?  On the attic floor I can't open the "room" to look at the ceiling height.  I'd be nervous of tweaking it even if I could, as I wouldn't want to cock up the tippy up roof bit.

The other problem I have is that the open fireplace has got to stay and the kitchen has got to be built around and within it.  I created the chimney breast by building interior walls and putting a doorway into it the size of the opening.   I need to put base cabinets back against the back wall inside the chimney breast it won't let me bridge the doorway with a cabinet so it sits in front of the opening instead.  Do you have any ideas of how else to create the chimney breast/open fireplace which would allow me to do this?

Try Point to Point Move, Transform/Replicate (move in X an or Y), hold the Control (or Command key on Mac) and drag the cabinet into the opening.

The Attic works differently than other floors. It has no room definition.

Have you looked at an elevation?

With Pro, you can select both roof planes and use Transform/Replicate in the Z axis to raise or lower them. Walls below will adjust automatically up or down as needed.
