Manual Dimensions to interior wall

New user of Home Designer Suite 2018 here. Apparently, Manual Dimensions inside a room will only stop at the outside of an outside wall for any product less than Pro, and it cannot be changed to the expected inside of the wall.  Several references show this to be true. And this is not documented in any of the sales literature. This is unlike any of the other 4 products from other vendors under $100 that I have used. Is this true?

It is not true at all what so ever

This You Tube video shows general "Dimension Defaults" in Home Designer Pro which are pretty much the same in all Home Designer titles including your Suite.:

All dimension points in all Home Designer titles and versions are manually editable in terms of where they dimension from, you can dimension from any outer layer, any framing surface layer or the center of a wall, the same is true for windows and doors where preprogrammed dimension points can be manually edited and relocated to fit your specific desires. Dimension defaults can be set to general choices as to which wall-window or door surfaces are to be dimensioned to before you start  a new project

You would do well to actually read the provided Users Guide, watch the provided free video tutorials which introduce the tools in Suite before making unfounded claims about what it can and cannot do.

I forgot to mention you can move the endpoint manually from the outside of the wall to the inside.

You might tell us what the purpose is of these dimensions.

A framer will want dimensions from the outside of the exterior wall.

You can use interior dimensions to dimension inside rooms.

Reply from Technical Support:

"Thank you for contacting technical support. Manual Dimensions do snap to the outside of the wall however they can be modified by selecting the dimension line and then grabbing the diamond at the end. You can slide the dimension to the area of the wall that you would like it to snap to."

Why the dimensions would snap to the outside of an interior wall still does not make any sense, but at least it can corrected.
