Scrolling with trackpad (Mac - El Capitan)

I'm using Home Designer Architect 2017 on my MacBook Pro. Normally on a mac trackpad you scroll up and down with two fingers together. In HDA17, however, that action results in a zoom in and out. The normal two-finger pinch and spread also zooms. Scrolling works as it should in every other application on my MacBook.

Has anyone else encountered this and have a fix?

I request that Home Designer (and Chief Architect) for macOS pan (another word for scroll) when a user drags two fingers on the trackpad.

As a user interface design principle, no software should break a user's expectations. In the case of macOS, users expect that dragging two fingers on the Mac's trackpad will result in scrolling.
