I now have pro 15 thru 18 on my MAC.   I have tried to move the older app to trash but no luck.  How do you delete older versions of HD

I AM ASKING THIS QUESTION WITH MORE INFO.  I am using Pro17.  I need builtin gas grills to insert into an indoor Kitchen.

The SOLVER, lead me to KB 00888.  I have tried to follow it about 20 times.  

I downloaded Sketchup app.  Logged in, searched and found gas grills, selected the picture, select the new one and clicked download, it loads into my down load folder.  

I open HD, and my plan, File-import, import symbol file, select the item and open.  I get an error msg. " This SKP file was created in an incompatible software version."

I do not get the SYMBOL SPECIFICATION DIALOG to open as the instruction say will happen.

What am I doing wrong??

I have gone thru the knowledge base article on importing 3D items.  I am missing something.  When I go to open the item on the IMPORT command, it tells me , This SKP file was created in an incompatible software version.

One note I do not get the "SYMBOL SPECIFICATION" box to open when I use the IMPORT command.  I can see the imported items in my DOWNLOADS folder.

I have spent 3 hours trying to get this to work.

I go to sketchup,  find the gas grills, download them, using their download button.

Then I open HD, open my plan, go to file, click the import, a box opens, I go to downloads, and try to open one of the grills that are there.  I get the msg. above.

I am trying to import gas grills from sketchup warehouse, but it keeps telling me it is the wrong version and can not import.  Do you have an idea how to get this to work, or where I could import gas grills from?

I have pro 17

When I use import command I get a different box to open, than is on the training video. The video may be an older version.

I am using pro 17.  I found a post that shows using a custom countertop to build the surround.  Is this the best way to build one.  I need a triangle shaped surround.  I tried a soffit but could not change it to a triangle.  My customer is keeping the tub, I just need to put it in my plan.

I am on a MAC, and have another question. I have pro 15, 16 and 17 on it.  Can I delete the old versions or will I loose part of the program, if I do it?  I tried to move the 15 to trash but it would not go to trash.

I AM USING PRO 16.  I WANT TO FIND OUT HOW TO SHOW DECK FRAMING.  I CAN BUILD DECKS EASY.  BUT I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DISPLAY THE FLOOR FRAMING.  I HAVE WATCHED VIDEOS ALL DAY TRYING TO FIND THE ANSWER.  I CAN SHOW A ROOM FLOOR FRAMING AND ADD BEAMS TO IT.  BUT WHEN I USE THE SAME THING BY GOING DOWN TO FOUNDATION LEVEL, THE DECK FRAMING IS NOT THERE.   

I LIKE TO HAVE THE POST AND FOOTING UNDER THE BAND OF THE DECK, AND NOT USE GIRDERS.  THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE N EASY WAY TO PLACE POST AND FOOTING WHERE I NEED THEM.

yes Eric that is just what i need to do.   When I try building it, it goes to first floor level not on the roof.  I do move to the second floor when I try building the deck both it still builds on the first level.

I am using PRO 16    Can anyone help with how I could build a floating deck on a flat roof top.  The roof is over a first floor screen porch.

I have PRO 2015

The last two porches that I have design has had only one of the post to go thru the roof.  I have deleted the railing and added it back with the same result.  I have the railing to sop at the ceiling level.  Also on the shed roof side the outside post does reach the ceiling but as the roof continues up the other post do not reach the ceiling.  I think this is two issues.

I just got pro 15.  I can use the ICON line to select and place doors & windows.  I needed a 1/2 rd. window, I found then in the library, put I can't move them out of the library section. I can rotate them in the library window put they will not move to the plan.  What am I doing wrong???

Thanks for your post.  I have the plans on my MAC desktop.  I can open and use the with HD.  But I can't figure out how to save them in the HD DATA, PLANS folder.

Thanks for the info.  Is there a easy way to move my old plans to the MAC side.  I have them on DVD, and moved them to my desktop.  I can find them and open them with HD.  But I can not see how to save them under HD, data, plans folder.

I was using pro 14 on boot camp.  I have burned my old plans to a DVD.  I now have Pro15 for MAC.  How do I get those old plans loaded from the DVD to the Plans file on the MAC?   I think this should be easy but after 2 hours I need help.  I have searched for the topic but have not found anything.
