  1. The plan enclosed is a dumbed down version of a floor plan that has changed several times over time. One would expect the materials list to reflect those changes but it does not. For example: the metal siding has been changed from Rusted Corrugated (31" wide) to Standard 36" wide black PBR panels. The materials list doesn't reflect that change. What gives? If the software doesn't update the list automatically can I manually update? I have changed the default to the desired material but that did not change the list. 2.2023 Empty.zip
  2. Figured as much but had to ask.
  3. What file types (if any) can be imported/modified and viewed in 3D using Home pro 22? I have a guy that has pdf's of a new home in 2d and needs to be able to show his plan to subdivision nosy nancy's in 3D. I am trying to avoid redrawing his entire plan in HD Pro.....As you all know i can export files to CA's cloud once his plans are complete.
  4. In the materials list HD Pro 2022 does not change one choice for another. Example: changing the corrugated siding shown to exposed siding (pole barn style) using the eye dropper results in no change in the material list. The new siding choice shows in 3D but list does not update. Not a huge deal but confusing.
  5. Just updated to HD2022 from 2020. Program tells me my Graphic "card" is not capable of 3D rendering. The card has the latest drivers and cannot be replaced because it is soldered to the Dell motherboard. Time to buy a PCE-I GPU to fit my SFF Dell Optiplex. The question is - what are the minimum GPU requirements to be able to view 3D content. I do not need the latest whiz bang gaming card and certainly ain't about to pay $1000 bucks for one. Does anyone have a Nvidia 1050TI 4G in use or how about a GTX 1650 4G? These under $200 retail cards are now selling for $250 to $350 due to shortages so i don't really want to pop for one just to find it won't do the job.

    Scale

Are Cross Sections and Elevations to scale depending on print settings - like 1/8 = 12 East Wall Elevation.pdf

    Shower drain

Where did you find the drain itself? I'm using HD Pro as well but can't find the drain in the library....

    Brain Freeze

Thanks for that. Unfortunately my 2020 version doesn't have the build framing for selected object command in the toolbar. I'll look around and see if I can find it. Thanks to both you and Solver.

    Brain Freeze

Thought it would be something an expert would know off the top of their head. The weirdness started when I replaced a ICF wall (the Garage wall in question) with a standard 2x6 "siding -6" wall which was in place originally and showing the studs. I changed to ICF in the Wall Spec box and then later changed my mind and reverted to the stud wall. The zipped plan file is enclosed. Wall weirdness.zip

Make that just below the yellow garage wall

    Brain Freeze

The 2x6 wall "underneath" the garage wall (yellow)

All you experts out there please excuse my temporary loss of cognizant mind functions but for the life of me I can't figure out how to view the studs in the wall circled. The rest of the plan shows stud locations and spacing and I'll be dammed if i can remember how i was able to enable that. What am I messing? Thanks in advance.

    Invisible ICF walls

Obviously. Would like to see the ICF wall in the 3D framing view. They are part of the "framing" structure after all.

    Invisible ICF walls

In HD Pro the ICF wall do not appear in 3D framing view. I've checked all the usual places to no avail. What am I missing? I'm wondering if it is because a solid ICF wall would hide some of the stick framing.

    Cheap and dirty

New build. Design is driven by my desire to use solar for space heating and the lay of the land. The property is heavily wooded with deep valleys and there is really only one spot to economically plant a house. I'm retired and single so it doesn't need to be any larger. I'm a big fan of hard working Rumford fireplaces so that is the focus of the great room. If the budged allowed I would do real timber framing in the great room but the beams provide that ambiance without the expense. My existing FSBO home is similar in design. If you want check it out at: www.northern-mi-rustic-charmer.info The home will be of Southwestern flavor thruout. I see you are from AZ. If you know of any legit but affordable suppliers of Native American "stuff" let me know.

    Cheap and dirty

I got the locked pitch. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to do what I did (see pic) without having to manually change everything else. Just me being lazy.

Seems that the pitch gets crazy when I change the fascia and ridge heights. That's probably just me.

    Cheap and dirty

If you open the file you will see the second floor sticking up like a sore thumb. Is there a quick and easy way to lower the roof height in that second floor. I've played around with changing fascia and ridge top height but get goofy results. I've set the wall height for the rooms but that doesn't show in 3D views. It would be nice if one could select the roof and just drag it down to whatever height one wanted. 12.20.19 second floor solar.zip

    3 way switchs

How does one show two 3 way's on two different floors? Example: bottom of stairwell and top of stairwell controlling a second story bedroom lighting circuit.

    Square Footage

In HD Pro 2020 does the program figure square footage for all floors at once or do I need to add up each floor to get the total?
  21. I've upgraded from Suite to HD Pro. Can I sell my HD Suite 2019 DVD to a private party (say an e-bay buyer) and will that buyer be able to get support? Will said buyer have to pay any license fees to Chief?

    Silly Q

That was easy! Thanks for the tip. Please ignore my last edit.

    Silly Q

Just upgraded to HD Pro from Suite. In Suite I was able to move the entire visible on screen plan side to side and up and down using the bars on the bottom and right side of the plan view and the mouse. In Pro it seems these bars are gone and It looks like the keyboard arrow keys are the only way to move the plan. Unfortunately the plan seems to also rotate while moving side to side. Is it possible to just move the entire screen (plan) up and down and side to side? After more experimentation the issue appears to be zoom in 3D views. The up/down arrow keys zoom the view in and out. Can this action be changed from zoom to vertical movement?
